Privacy
The short version: CluePilot is built to keep your practice on your own Mac. There's no account to create, and your questions aren't designed to pass through anything of ours. Subscribing to Pro is the exception — that involves a licence, so it involves your email address. Here's how it's all meant to work, in plain language.
For the specifics of what we hold and why, see the full privacy policy.
How it's meant to work
Designed so your questions and keys stay on your device — not with us.
The principles
The app is designed to run on your Mac with no account. Only licence checks talk to us, and they carry your licence key — never your questions.
It's built to talk to the AI provider you choose using your own key, so requests go where you decide.
Options like Apple Intelligence and Ollama are designed to answer locally, with no network request at all.
The microphone is intended to be used only while you're actively dictating — not in the background.
The clipboard is designed to be read only at the moment you ask it to — there's no polling in the code.
Transcribing your practice calls is off until you turn it on, asks for consent the first time, and runs on-device. It shows a red indicator throughout, stops itself after an hour, and won't run while the window is hidden.
History is kept locally and built to be searchable and clearable whenever you want.
When you pick a hosted AI provider, your request goes to them and is handled under their own policies — not ours. If you use on-device options, that request is designed to stay on your Mac. We'd encourage reading the policies of any provider you connect.
This page describes how CluePilot is designed to behave and is provided for general information only. It is a summary, not the policy itself — the privacy policy is the document that governs. Nothing here is a contract, a warranty, or legal advice. Actual behaviour may vary by version, platform, configuration, and the third-party services you choose to use.
