Download
A single drag-to-install disk image. No installer, no account, no sign-up. Apple Intelligence features need macOS 26.
First launch takes one extra step
CluePilot isn’t signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, so macOS quarantines it like any download it doesn’t recognise — it will say the app is “damaged”. It isn’t. One line in Terminal clears the flag and you’re in; the steps are on the right. A notarized build that opens on a double-click is next.
Rather wait for that one? Tell us and we'll let you know the day it's signed.
The .dmg is 7.3 MB — universal, so it runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel. Open it and drag CluePilot into your Applications folder.
macOS flags downloads from developers it doesn’t recognise yet, and reports them as “damaged”. Paste this into Terminal to clear the flag on CluePilot — it changes nothing else on your Mac.
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/CluePilot.appDouble-click, and from here it behaves like any other app. You only do this once — updates you download later will need the same line until the notarized build lands.
Bring your own API key, or pick Apple Intelligence / Ollama and run with no network at all.
What's new in 1.1
A graphite, dark-first interface with a sidebar, a calmer composer and answers set like an article rather than chat bubbles. Light mode designed alongside it.
⇧⌘Space now opens a compact ask-anything bar that answers in place, autocompletes from your history and carries the conversation into the window with ⌘O.
Type / in the composer: /code, /star, /system-design, /explain, /context, /history, /new.
A Grounded badge with the source count, sources that open the exact passage, and the real retrieval steps while you wait.
Status, index coverage, sort and filter, drag-and-drop, and a paperclip in the composer to add files to the space you are using.
Grouped by date, with pin, rename, archive and search.
Translucency now keeps the blur, so text stays readable over any wallpaper.
